How does geometry apply in real life?
Think about the architectural field and construction projects.
Consider the logic used in constructing proofs: scientists must also construct step by step instructions.
Data Scientists and Programmers sequence steps to reach solutions on repeated math calculations.

In my opinion there are at least 2 important answers to your question.
First, plane geometry is the first time most students are introduced to formal deductive logic. This form of thinking is pervasive in mathematics (although usually a little less formal than the so-called 2 column proof). If you don't get it here, it will be difficult to catch up later.
Second, many occupations use geometry in their work: builders (though less so now since the stairs and roof trusses come pre-assembled), draftsmen, architects, surveyors...just to name a few. And then there are simple hobbyists like me, who use geometry to build things...right now I am buidling a 4 legged stool with legs at 15 degree angles and I am using Desmos to get the measurements correct.
I hope other tutors will join in this answer.
