I call this trigonometry. expand both cos(a+b) and sin(a+b)
then with algebra, have the expression=cos(a)*(cos2b+sin2b)-sin(a)*sin(b)*cos(b)+sin(a)*sin(b)*cos(b)
which nicely = cos(a)

It is kind of cool if f(x)=cos(x+1)*cos(1)+sin(x+1)*sin(1), then the f(x) graph is same as f(x)=cos(x), and the "1" can be replaced by any number in the real number system.04/06/21
