The perimeter of a triangle is 44 inches. The length of one side is twice the length of the shortest side, and the length of the other side is eight inches longer than the length of the shortest side.

P = 44

M=2S

N = S+8

M+N+S = 44

2S +S+8 + S = 44

4S = 44-8 = 36

S = 36/4 = 9

M = 2S = 18

N = S+8 = 17

9+18+17 = 44

sides are 9, 17 and 18 inches
