To determine the percent of the beads that were red, you can use the percent equation to help you (recall that a percent is a number compared to 100);
x = 23
100 92
Then using cross products, you can write:
92 • x = 23 • 100
92 • x = 2300
x= 2300/92
x = 25
25/100 is equivalent to 25%
You could also divide 23/92 and multiply the result by 100:
(23/92) • 100 = 0.25 •100 = 25%
