So correlation talks about how close the points form a line. if it’s positive then, the points form a positive line. If negative, it makes a negative line. The closer to 1 or -1 the stronger it is. The closer to 0 the weaker it is. So if r= .09 that means it has very weak positive correlation bc it’s so close to 0. That means the points are very spread out and it’s hard to draw a trend line.
