Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
d = rt
d/t = rate of speed
414/4.5 = 92 miles per hour which is the sum of their 2 speeds
Train A's speed is < 92/2 = 46 mph
Train B, the faster train's speed > 46 mph
IF they had gone at the same speed, each would have gone 46x4.5 = 207 miles
which is half the distance of 414
If one goes faster than 46 mph, the other is going less than 46 mph
if one were going zero mph, the other would go 92 mph
if Train A went 23 mph, then in 4.5 hours it went 103.5 miles
and Train B would go 414-103.5 = 310.5 miles in 4.5 hours or 310.5/4.5 = 69 mph
69+23 = 92 mph
IF Train B goes X mph, Train A goes 92-X mph
Train B's speed is between 46 and 92 mph
Train A's between 0 and 46
