A kids club held a talent show. Student tickets were $3 each, and adult tickets were $5 each. 200 Tickets were sold, and we made a grand total of $760. How many adult tickets did we sell?

Since we only care about adult tickets, we can eliminate the child's tickets right away.

t is adult tickets, and (200-t) is child tickets.

5t+3(200-t)=760

5t + 600 - 3t = 760

2t + 600 = 760

2t = 160

t = 80

80 adult tickets were sold, and 120 child tickets. 400+360=760 ■
