Mr. Burke is getting married. He wants to rent a catering hall to hold his wedding reception. 21’s Catering Company charges a booking fee of $525 and then $50 per guest. Future’s Hall charges a booking fee of $300 and charges $55 per guest. How many guests would have to show up for the cost of each catering hall to be equal?

Total cost for each option would be:

21: 525 + 59G

Future: 300 + 55G

Find G by setting one cost equal to the other:

300 + 5G = 525 + 59G
