the height of the arrow shot into the air can be represented by the equation h = -16t^2 + 112t + 5 what is the maximum height of the arrow?

use the quadratic formula

Not sure the quadratic formula would be helpful to find the maximum for this. You'd want to find the vertex of the parabola to find its maximum.
