OK, g(x) is a piecewise function, meaning it changes for different values of x as defined by the inequalities. So you need to find which inequality each value of x satisfies. I'll do the first one for you, x = -3. We have three inequalities:
x ≤ -1 (x is less than or equal to -1)
-1 < x < 2 (x is greater than -1 but less than 2)
x ≥ 2 (x is greater than or equal to 2)
-3 is less than -1, so the inequality that -3 satisfies is x ≤ -1. That means to use g(x) = -x + 4. Next, plug in x = -3:
g(x) = -x + 4
g(-3) = -(-3) + 4
g(-3) = 7
You try it for x = 0 and x = 4. Find which inequality is true for each value of x.
