Kayla spent $47 on 3 hostas and 10 bunches of ornamental grass. what is the cost of one hosta and the cost of one bunch of or ornamental grass.

multiply 1st by 10 and 2nd by 5 then subtract to eliminate one variable

110H +50B = 1090

15H +50B = 235

95H = 855

H = 855/95 = $9 for a hosta

10B = 47-27 = 20

B = 20/10 = $2 for a bunch
