With 30 l of fuel, the man may make it for (30 l)*(100 km)/(8 l) = 375 km, but since the fuel stations are 150 km apart, he must stop at 300 km (a multiple of 150) to refuel.
He leaves the refueling station with a full tank, and can go another 375 km before refueling, but he must refuel at the station at 300 km. Now. he can only use 15 l (a half tank), so he may go a maximum of 375/2 = 187.5 km (since he may use only half of the fuel, he may go only half of the maximum distance).
300 km + 300 km + 187.5 km = 787.5 km
