L = 2W + 7 since it says that the length is 7 more than twice the width
A = L x W = (2W + 7)W = 2W^2 + 7W
So the equation we’re trying to solve for the value of the width is
2W^2 + 7W = 319
2W^2 + 7W – 319 = 0
From there then I would use the quadratic formula or some type of technology to solve for the underlying value of W. It should end up being
W = 11, meaning that the Width of the rectangle is 11 yards.
Then L = 2(11) + 7 = 22 + 7 = 29, meaning that the Length of the rectangle is 29 yards
