The first step is to find the slope, m, using the two points we were given:
m=rise/run
m=(3-(-3)_/(-5-0)=-6/5
Next, we can use the point-slope formula and plug in the point (0,-3)
Point-slope formula: y-y1=m(x-x1)
y-(-3)=-6/5*(x-0)
y+3=-(6/5)x
y= -(6/5)x-3
You can verify the validity of the this equation by plugging in the other point, (-5,3)
3=-(6/5)*(-5)-3
3=6-3
3=3
