Hi Megan,
The equation of a line written in slope-intercept form would be in the form:
y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.
You can find the slope of the line using the coordinates of the two points in the problem:
-1 - 0 = -1 = 1
1 - 2 -1
The slope, m, will be 1.
Then using a slope of 1 and the coordinates of either point, you can determine the y-intercept , b.
Let's use (2,0) :
y = mx + b
0 = 1 • 2 + b
0 = 2 + b
0- 2 = 2 + b -2
-2 = b
The y-intercept will be -2.
The equation of the line will be : y = 1x - 2 OR y = x - 2
