For question 1, using the equation for slope (Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1), we can substitute in x (X1), -4 (Y1), -2 (X2), and 9 (Y2). This gives us (9-(-4)/(-2-x), which we know must be equal to the slope, -13/3. Upon isolating x, the solution comes out to be 1 for x.
