The area of a triangle is 40 square centimeters. The base is 2 centimeters longer than its height. Find the length of the base and height.

A = 40 = bh/2 = (h+2)h/2
80 = h^2 + 2h
h^2 + 2h + 1 = 80 + 1
(h+1)^2 = 81
h+1 = 9
h = 9-1=8 cm = height
b = h+2 = 10 cm = base
