Slope intercept form is also known as y=mx+b form!
When you know what each variable represents, it will be easier to understand how to do these types of questions.
y=the y-value or output of the equation. Typically you don't put anything here, just leave it as a y
m=the slope of the equation
x=the x-values or input of the equation. This is left as x
b=the y-intercept of the equation
We are given a slope of 2/5, so let's plug that in to the m value:
y=2/5x+b
We are also given a y intercept of -7, so we need to plug that into the b value:
y=2/5x-7
