First (starting with w in both terms) --> w * w = w²

Middle (starting with w in first term) --> w * 2

Middle (starting with 9 in first term) --> 9 * w

Last (starting with 9 in first term) --> 9 * -2

Therefore --> w² + 2w + 9w -18 = w² + 11w - 18
