Finding the slope of the given parallel line:
2x - y = 5 → solving for "y"
y = 2x - 5
m = 2 ← slope of this line
Parallel lines have the same slope.
Writing equation for the line, passing through the point (2, 3), in the slope-point form:
(y - 2) = 2(x - 3) → solving for "y"
y - 2 = 2x - 6
y = 2x - 4 ← equation of the line in the slope-intercept form
