The Area of a square is: A = s2
So, √A = s
√200 = s
The closest perfect square root to √200 is:
√196 = 14
So, a good approximation for the length of one side is 14cm
Note that:
202 = 400
82 = 64
502 = 2500
142 = 196, therefore √196 = 14.
