What are these letters doing in my equations? Here comes algebra!
No worries Krystal--it's got all the info we need.
First, remember that the 3 angles in ANY triangle always add up to 180 degrees.
Then, since you're dealing with 3 consecutive even integers, you need to skip numbers so they will all be even.
So call them n, n + 2, and n + 4.
Those 3 added together will total 180, so
3n + 6 = 360.
Can you finish it from here? Let me know if you need another step or 2.

Always try to find the one you can call just plain "n" first. Circle it in the words. Then look for the language of the other, like "3 more than twice" or whatever.
Also, with any word problem, try to DRAW something--a rectangle, or triangle, or whatever they are asking about, and label it with whatever info you have--then you'll see what's missing.
