If CD is an altitude, then angle CDB and CDA are right angles by definition and triangle ACD is a right triangle as is BCD.

This way:

CD is perpendicular to AB definition of an altitude

measure of angle CDB = measure of angle CDA= measure of a right angle definition of perpendicular

both triangle CDB and triangle CDA are right triangles they each contain a right angle
