Jogging and Walking

Question

I jogged for 1/3 of an hour and then walked for 1/4 of an hour. How many minutes did I exercise? what fraction of an hour did I exercise?

1/3 + 1/4 = 4/12 + 3/12 = 7/12 of an hour

7/12 x 60 = 7(5) = 35 minutes of exercise

or (1/3)60 = 20

and (1/4)60 = 15

20+15 = 35 minutes
