I dont get this problem. Could someone solve it?

For a field trip, the science class rented and filled eight vans and eight busses with 240 students. The math class rented and filled four vans and two busses with 68 students. Every van had the same number of students in it, as did the busses. Find the number of students in each van and in each bus.

8V + 8B =240

4V + 2B = 68

multiply the 2nd equation by 2 and subtract that from the 1st equation to get

4B = 240-136 = 104

B = 104/4 = 26 students per bus

4V + 2(26) = 68

4V = 68-52 = 16

V = 16/4 = 4 students per van

8(26) + 8(4) = 240

208 + 32 = 240
