My guess is you probably meant to say 8x+4y =10 and y=2x-5 ??

then the problem is find the intersection, solve for x and y

1st equation is the same as 4x + 2y = 5 after dividing by 2

2nd equation is same as 4x-2y = 10. Add them to get 8x = 15, or x =15/8

y=2x-5 or y= 2(15/8) -5 = 15/4 -5 = -5/4 solution is (15/8, -5/4) x=15/8, y=-5/4
