The New Garden is 4 feet longer than it is wide. If both the width and length are increased by 5 ft and the New Garden is 95 square feet larger than the old one, what are what were the dimensions of the old Garden?

L= 4+ W

(L+5)(W+5) = 95 + LW

(4+W+5)(W+5) = 95 + (4+W)W

(W+9)(W+5) = W^2 + 4W + 95

W^2 + 14W + 45 = 95 + W^2 + 4W

10W = 50

w=5 feet wide

L = 9 feet long

old area was 5x9 = 45 square feet

new area is 10x14 = 140 = 45+95
