y = 3x + 6 goes through (4, 7)
y = mx + b
m = 3
(x1, y1) = (4,7)
(y - y1) = m (x- x1)
y - 7 = 3 (x -4)
y - 7 = 3x -12
y = 3x - 5

Hi Armani P
Parallel lines have the same slope
Slope Intercept Form is
y = mx +b
The line y = 3x + 6 is already in slope intercept form
The slope m is 3
Since the parallel line passes through (4,7) we can use these coordinates to calculate b.
y = mx + b
7 = 3(4) + b
7 = 12 + b
Solve for b
7 - 12 = b
-5 = b
So our Parallel line is
y = 3x - 5
