3M + 8V = 58

5M + 2V = 23

multiply 2nd equation above by 4

20M + 8V = 92, subtract the 1st equation

3M + 8V =58 to get

17M = 34

M = 34/17 = $2 is the price of 1 movie

2V = 23-10 = 13

V = 13/2 = $6.50 is the price of 1 video game
