Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
(x-2 + x -1 + x + x + 1) /6 = 4
4x -2 = 4
4x = 6
x = a fraction, not an integer
there is no solution. there are no 4 consecutive integers whose sum divided by 6 = 4
maybe you meant to ask what 4 consecutive odd integers divided by 6 = 4?
then with the same method
the numbers are 3, 5, 7 and 9
they sum to 24
24 divided by 6 is 4

Mathematics Teacher - NCLB Highly Qualified
[n + (n + 1) + (n + 2) + (n + 3)] / 6 = 4
[n + (n + 1) + (n + 2) + (n + 3)] = 24
4n + 6 = 24
4n = 18
n = 4.5
Yet n is to be an integer. No number satisfices the conditions.
