Let assume the value of PQR stock = x

 

the value of EFG stock = y

 

y = 3x                    ___________ equation 1

 

 

x+ y = 4500            __________ equation 2

 

 

now by subsitution

 

x +  y = 4500

 

x + 3x = 4500       ___(y=3x)

 

4x = 4500

 

x= 1125

 

y = 3x =3(1125)=3375
