How do I find the slope between 2 points? 0,5 and 4,17

slope = "rise over run" or the change in y coordinates divided by the change in x coordinates

= (17-5)/(4-0) = 12/4 = 3

slope = 3 means the line through the points increases vertically 3 units as x increases by 1
