in linear equations, the standard slope intercept form is y=mx+b
where m is the slope and b = the y intercept
if slope =-21 then the line's equation would be y=-21x + b where m=-21 = the slope
the slope is the "rise over run" or how fast y changes as x changes. a negative slope means the line is going downhill. a number like 21 means the line is going downhill very fast, as x increases by 1, y decreases by 21
the number itself, -21, doesn't have a slope, but it could be the slope
