You can use equivalency and unit rates to find the cost of one ounce using each of the prices.
For the first option:
$4.00 = x
16 ounces 1 ounce
$4.00 ÷ 16 = x
16 ounces ÷ 16 1 ounce
x= $0.25 for 1 ounce
For the second option:
$4.80 = x
24 ounces 1 ounce
$4.80 ÷ 24 = x
24 ounces ÷ 24 1 ounce
x= $0.20 for 1 ounce
The second option($4.80 for 24 ounces) would cost less per ounce.
