Area of a triangle = one half the base times the height
For example, if the base =10 and height =5, the area is (1/2)bh = (1/2)10(5) = 25
any of the 3 sides of a triangle can be used as the base, each with a different height
in a right triangle with base = 10, height 5, you could make the base =5, then the height would be 10
or you could make the hypotenuse the base, which is sqr(125) = 5sqr5= about 5(2.2) = 11
then the height is 50/11 = 4.54
