The length of a rectangle 3 m less than twice the width, and the area of the rectangle is 27 m^2. Find the dimensions of the rectangle.

Area = 27 = LW = (2W-3)W = 2W^2 -3W

2W^2 -3W -27 = 0

(2W -9)(W+3) = 0

2W-9= 0 and W+3=0

W=9/2, W = -3, ignore the negative solution

W= 4.5 m

L=27/4.5 = 6 m
