y-y1=m(x-x1) in equation you can use. Plug in the slope and point given as (x1,y1)
y-(-8)=3/4(x-5) Simplify and distribute
y+8=3/4x-15/4 Subtract 8 from both sides of the equation
y+8-8=3/4x-15/4-8 Common denominator
y+8-8=3/4x-15/4-32/4 Combine like terms
y=3/4x-47/4
