Math and computer tutor/teacher
M = (68 - -12)/(9 - -1)
= 80/10 = 8
B = y - mx = 68 - 8*9 = 68 - 72 = -4
y = 8x-4

To find the slope of a line given two points, we need to know the slope formula.
M=( y2 - y1 / x2 - x1 )

We can uniquely determine a line given two different points in space. For any two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), the slope if given by (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) if x1 not equal to x2. (If they are equal, then the line is a vertical line)
In this case, x1 = -1, y1 = -12, x2 =9, and y2=68. Then the slope is
(68-(-12))/(9-(-1))=8
