asked 12/27/20why do i get a big hole in the center on the backs of paper-cranes
i am very fond of making origami paper cranes and ive noticed that the paper carnes i make sometimes have holes in the back of them. some times the holes are small and unnoticed and some times the holes are so bad the half of its back is the hole and i have to terminate the cranes (:-:).please how can i prevent this? should i get new paper? what should i do. i need to know how to prevent these holes so that more birds can live.
[NOT INPORTANT]
now that i look at this website better i see that maybe this wasn't the best place to ask my question. i searched google and i found nothing so i looked up question asker free and i found this so maybe its is the place idk.
also if anyone wonders why i "kill" the paper cranes with holes in them is because i make paper cranes for luck and then give them away to people and they get luck and i get luck and imperfect cranes are considered unlucky and giving them to people is not only sad but unlucky to you and them so far i think theres around 500 paper canes i have made out there and for ever 10 perfect paper cranes i make i get at least 1 bad one and i'm slowly making my way to 1000 and knowing how to prevent the holes saves me a lot of work and paper

Hello, I am an English teacher, but I have lived in Japan (the land of Origami) and I can kindly answer your question. First, the hole is just the way it was made, but it does have meaning. The Japanese kindly showed me you can make the Crane's body fat and able to stand on it's own by carefully blowing air into it through the hole. When you need to put it away you can carefully squeeze it and let the air out. And then once again, when you want to set it out or give it to a friend, you can just blow it back up.
The hole really does come from the folds you make. As you fold the paper inward and to the top before continuing, you may notice the space that will continue and become that little Air Hole.
