Stephanie sold 8 cherry pies and 6 pumpkin pies for a total of $174. What is the cost each of one cherry pie and one pumpkin pie?

8C+6P =174 subtract them to get

2P = 26

P = 26/2 = $13

8C = 200-8P = 200-104 = 96

C = 96/8 = $12

one pumpkin pie plus one cherry pie cost 12+13 = $25
