Mixture word problems

Brand X sells 32 oz. bags of mixed nuts that contain 52% peanuts. To make their product they add peanuts to Brand A's mixed nuts which contain 20% peanuts. How much of each do they combine?

Brand X combines 19.2 ounces of Brand A's peanuts with 12.8 ounces of peanuts to get 32 ounces of X brand

P+A=32

P+A/5 = .52(32)=16.64

subtract 2nd from 1st equation to get

4A/5 = 15.36

A = (5/4)(15.36 = 19.2 ounces of Brand A

P= 32-19.2 = 12.8 ounces of peanuts
