A+W = 6.5
.48(6.5) = .6A + 0(W)
A = .48(6.5)/.6 = .8(6.5) = 5.2 quarts of 48% alcohol
W = 6.5 -5.2 = 1.3 quarts of water
to get 6.5 quarts of 48% alcohol solution
5.2 quarts times .6 solution = 31.2
6.5 quarts times .48 solution = 31.2
48% is much closer to 60%, than to water's 0%, so the mixture will have much more 48% alcohol than water
it's 12% less than 60% and 4(12%) more than water's 0%
4 times more translates to 5.2 = 4(1.3)
