2ax = -b ±√(b2-4ac)
2ax +b = ±√(b2-4ac)
Square both sides
4a2x2+4axb + b2 = b2-4ac
Cancel b2 and swap left and right sides
-4ac = 4a2x2+4axb
Divide both side by -4a
c = -ax2-xb
Rearranging:
ax2+bx +c = 0 So it does make sense
