I'm not clear on the second part of your question dealing with f(x) - g(x). There are no definitions for either function.
The first question asks us to simplify the expression. I'll assume x2 and 3x2 mean x2 and 3x2. Use x^2 to denote exponents.
Do the work in the parentheses first. This is straightforward for the first set:
x2 +5x + 8
The second group is also easy, but note the "-" sign in front of it. We'll need to multiply each term by a -1:
−3x2 - 2x + 6
Then group the like terms and add:
x2 - 3x2 +5x -2x + 8 + 6
-2x2 +3x +14
