7.53 = k = the constant of proportionality
y=kx
y=7.53x
k is the coefficient of x when a linear equation is solved for y, and there is no constant term
the ratio of y/x is a constant =k
if x =2, y = 7.53 times 2
if x=3 y = 7.53 times 3
if x=4 y = 7.53 times 4
etc
x and y are proportional and the proportion or ratio is always the same, equal to a constant
