Hi Abdul,
y = mx + b is slope-intercept form of the equation of a line.
You need to find m which is slope and b which is y-intercept.
Because the lines are parallel to each other they will have the same slope.
Now we know that m= -2
When solving for b, we need to find the y-intercept (a point where the graph touches the y-axis) and
that point is given to us in the problem @ (0,1).
Now we know that b = 1 (if you take the y value of the ordered pair).
Plug the values of m and b into the slope intercept form equation and you get:
y= -2x+1
