Hi Bert!
when looking for equations that have exactly 1 y value for any given x value, it helps to sketch out the graphs.
A is a straight diagonal line
B is a straight vertical line
C is a parabola
D is cubed.
In order to determine whether an x value will have only 1 y value, we can do the vertical line test and see that all pass the vertical line test except B.
also, if you plug any value in for x, and you can make it true, that’s another way to solve. For example, if you plug 2 in each of the equations, you get
A y=-2
B 2=4
C y=4
D y=8
We see that A, C, and D are all exactly 1 value of Y and B isn’t a value of Y.
therefore your answer is A, C, and D.
Hope this helps.
