2C+4S=32
divide by 2 to get
C+2S = 16
C+S = 10 automobiles, subtract to get
0 +S = 6 = 6 SUVs
C =10-6= 4 cars

2c + 4s = 32
c + s = 10
Multiply the bottom equation by (-2) in order to cancel out the c variable:
-2(c + s =10)
You should get:
-2c -2s = -20
Next:
Line up the equations
2c + 4s = 32
-2c -2s = -20
The 2c cancel each other out and you are only left with the s variable
You should then be left with 2s = 12
Solve for s to get s = 6
Plug this back into either original equation to get the c value
Answer:
s = 6
c = 4

So you the easiest method would be using a trial and error. So I started with 5 SUVs and 5 cars and then adjusted from there. This is what I found that would work correctly.
4 car = $8
6 suvs = $24
$24 + $8 = $32 total.
Hope that helps. :)
