Math in plain English
There are a couple of ways to answer this question.
First, the slope is 0 -2 - (-2) / 2 - 0 = 0 / 2 = 0
If your slope is 0, you have a horizontal line. So, looking at your 2 points, no matter what x is equal to, y=-2. And that is your equation
If your teacher wants you to show your work here you would input the values into y2 - y1 = m(x2 - x1). pick a point (0, -2) and put these values in x2 and y2.
-2 - y1 = 0 (0 - x1)
-2 - y = 0
add 2 to both sides
-y = 2 or y = -2
.
You can also plot the two points and you will see that the line is
at y = -2.
