So when you're working with tests, the highest grade you can get is a 100 without extra credit. So in your example, you have 30 questions. A 100 on a test would be a 30/30 (in other words, you answered all questions correct).
There is two ways you can go about this, and it might be helpful to double check your work.
So if a passing grade is an 0.85, then that means the following: 0.85 = x / 30. You can solve for x by multiplying both sides by 30 --> (0.85)(30) = (30) * x / 30 --> (30) * (0.85) = x. So we find that x is 25.5. That means a passing grade is minimum a 25.5/30. The test in question is passing with a 26/30.
The other approach is a direct "plug and chug". In other words, you divide 26/30. What you get is about an 86.7. Which, because 85 is passing, means that particular test passed.
So yes, Jane passed her math test. Go Jane!
